The Story of HMH Vancouver

HMH Vancouver was founded by me, Bryan Ho. It all started when I fell into the trap of watch collecting after I bought a Raymond Weil Freelancer 2740 ST 20021 years ago. I had never heard of the brand Raymond Weil but when I saw that particular Freelancer model at the store, it was love at first sight. However, I thought it was too expensive for a watch so I left. The way the watch felt, the dial, the open case back, the movement inside (didn't even know it was called a "movement" at the time), I just couldn't get it out of my mind so I ended up going back to the store and pulled the trigger. Up to that point it was the most expensive watch I had ever bought. After purchasing that watch I started looking into mechanical watches through forums and google searches. That lead me onto the journey of watch collecting. From Longines Hydro Conquest, to Omega AquaTerra, to Rolex Datejust, to IWC Portuguese, etc. At one point I thought, the amount of money I had spent on buying watches.. why don't I try to design my own? That idea manifested in my head and here we are. I want to provide watches that strikes the perfect balance between experience, quality, and pricing. As the company grows, we will get better and closer to reaching that perfect balance.

What does HMH stands for? You might ask. When I decided to start a company and design my own watches, I did not have a name in mind. I wanted the name to mean something to me and a spark came into my mind. My brother and I share the same Chinese initials, HMH, and immediately I knew that was it. I want to represent my family, represent my city, and make them proud. There isn't anything more meaningful than that.

If you read all of that, I appreciate your time and I hope you enjoy our watches.
